I dreamt that I was in a apartment with my abuser father sitting next to him at a table. It was sort social situation where I seemed to need to be contained and polite. Later I went int kitchen and came back he was gone and I was angry I wanted to hurt him and kick him out. He was so devious he hid somewhere in apartment but couldn’t see where . I follow someone through door into a cupboard it wasn’t him a small Chinese woman dark hair and I pulled her out by her hair like a slug out of hole. I realised he’d left when I could see he was behind the door of apartment he closed door behind him and I tried to open to get out to hurt him but he’d taken the lock handle off from inside . He got away and I was stuck inside the flat. The hate and anger and powerlessness as he got away and I was trapped was tangible.
This dream is rich in symbolism and may reflect deep emotions and unresolved experiences. Here is an interpretation of its possible meanings:
Confronting Your Past: Sitting at a table with your abuser father suggests a confrontation with past traumas or unresolved issues. This setting implies a need for diplomacy and control, possibly reflecting your conscious or unconscious attempt to maintain balance or peace in your life despite underlying tensions.
Emerging Anger: Your feeling of anger and the desire to hurt him may indicate repressed feelings or unresolved anger toward your father. The act of wanting to kick him out suggests a need to remove his influence or presence from your life, symbolizing a wish to gain control or reclaim power.
The Elusive Abuser: Your father’s ability to hide and escape may represent feelings of frustration in your waking life. It could point to the perception that he continues to affect you in ways you cannot fully grasp or control.
The Unfamiliar Woman: The small Chinese woman with dark hair might symbolize an unexpected part of yourself or an external factor that you feel is connected to your current struggle. Pulling her out of the cupboard might reflect an attempt to confront an issue that initially seemed related to your father but is ultimately different and separate.
Trapped and Powerless: When your father escapes and you are left trapped, it represents feelings of powerlessness and frustration. This may indicate that you are still experiencing difficulty breaking free from his influence in some aspect of your life.
Lock and Escape: Your father taking the lock handle may signify that he still holds some level of control or influence over you, making it difficult for you to move forward or escape from his shadow. It shows an impediment in achieving liberation or closure.
Emotional Aspects:
Anger and Frustration: The emotions of anger and powerlessness are significant. They suggest that this is not only a personal issue but a deeply emotional one with potentially ongoing effects on your mental wellbeing.
Seeking Resolution: Your attempts to get out and confront him indicate a strong desire to resolve these issues and find peace with your past.
This dream might be encouraging you to explore these feelings further in a safe environment, perhaps with professional guidance or through expressive outlets. It highlights the importance of addressing old wounds and seeking ways to regain your autonomy and peace. Remember that dreams are personal and subjective; this interpretation might resonate with you differently depending on your unique experiences and feelings.
